Healing Circles
1st and 3rd Thursdays

  • Heal trauma and move towards equilibrium and wholeness.

  • Learn a mindfulness practice to reduce reactivity and impulsivity and increase equanimity and calm.

  • Identify your unmet needs in relationships or situations and increase your capacity to create a more fulfilling life.

We begin with a guided meditation for self-connection. If there is a volunteer in the group, we do a Healing Role Play. If not, the facilitator discusses a topic and we break out in dyads or triads where you can express yourself and be heard with empathy and care. Then, we join the whole group for Harvesting (identifying the most important need in your situation and the next step to meet it).

  • After the session, we recommend you take some quiet time to integrate the experience. If you need support, call a friend you can trust to talk about your emotions who will not judge you, comfort you, or give you advice. Ask that they listen with “a silent mind and an open heart.”

Connecting with hurt and pain is necessary for healing, equilibrium, and wholeness, but it can be upsetting. You could do the following things to regain a sense of safety and stability after the session.

    • Light a candle and listen to soothing music.

    • Visualize yourself in a safe place, e.g., your favorite room, nature, a sacred space, and rest there.

    • Ask for a hug, a back massage, or any other form of touch you would enjoy.

    • Take a bath or shower.

    • Go for a mindful walk. Hug a tree.

    • Do yoga.

    • Do progressive relaxation.

    • Watch the clouds pass or the leaves of a tree blow.

    • Listen to a yoga nidra meditation. You can access these online.

    • Journal.

    • Meditate.

    • Pray.

  • A word of caution! — For safety, do not participate in these groups if you have had active suicidality (ideation, intention and plan) or if you have had hallucinations or paranoid ideation in the past six months. We consider these symptoms serious and recommend that you seek professional help. Although the groups are therapeutic, they are not a substitute for therapy when therapy is necessary.

  • If you decide to pursue certification, participating in these groups will count towards fulfilling the requirements. For the sessions to count towards certification, we require prompt arrival, camera on, participation in the breakout groups, and staying until the end.

  • 7:00 - 8:30 am San Francisco
    9:00 – 10:30 am Chicago
    10:00 – 11:30 am New York City/Cali

    6:00 – 7:30 pm Nairobi

    Find your local time.

To create safety and build community, we ask that you arrive early, keep your camera on throughout the session and stay until the end. The door closes 5 minutes after the start time. The ET Healing groups are not recorded.

  • $20 - $40 USD per month sliding scale.

Our fees are low compared to other groups of this kind because we want to support people who cannot afford the customary fees for therapy.

Please choose the highest amount you can afford to support our work.
